Glock Magazine Floor Plate
|
Today I am showing off this Glock Magazine floor plate originally posted to thingiverse by user WetNeon. This was designed for a Glock 26 but WetNeon states it should work with others as well. When I printed this I did it with several other items as a single print and because of this included a raft. This was the first time I used a raft with my XYZ printer and it turns out it was near impossible to simply break away the material like I have done in the past with supports. In the end the raft material adds a lot of texture to the bottom of the magazine which I actually really like. Since its not quite uniform I plan to redesign this to include texture on the bottom and possibly even number them for when I use them in competition. Originally printed on a XYZprinting Da Vinci 1.0 3D Printer, Grey Check it out on thingiverse here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:630944

Love this idea. Could these be printed longer with different material? I was looking for something like the Taran tactical +5 extended base plate in red. I would need it closed off to not be able to accept any more rounds making it CA compliant. I just want the look and length. Please let me know if this is possible. I been looking for something like this for months now
Hey man. Great design. When I print it, and slide the mag into it, the thinnest part of the baseplate (the side wall that rubs up against the foot of the mag) ALWAYS splits open along the horizontal axis and breaks. I’ve printed it 3 times, with a few different settings. I’m using eSun PLA+, which has worked well for other parts in the past.
Is there any way you can beef up the side walls (maybe make them thicker – thus increasing the outer diameter of the part)?
Thanks!
